“D” litter
Auf der Oberen Halbinsel’s “D” litter is due in the spring of 2024. Paired with Onja II aus der Wolfskammer is Ash von Grossen Seen (below). Ash is a wonderful braun-schimmel (roan) hunting dog, with excellent test scores, hips, and ureter examination. His lines are from both of KlM-GNA’s foundational bitches, Yana vom Tecklenberger Land, and Tikka vom Forstweg. This is an outstanding pairing, with excellent Dogbase numbers.
Ash and Onja had ties over the weekend of February 17th and 18th. Ultrasound done March 20th shows pups, probably around eight.
X-ray on April 16th showed at least 9 pups!
The pups were born in the wee hours of April 22nd, 2024. 3 females were born, unfortunately one passed away on day 3. The other two are doing well, as are all 6 males. The girls are braun-weiss, and the boys are a mixture of braun-weiss and braun-schimmel. All are gaining weight and active.
At ten weeks of age, all of the puppies have been placed in loving, hunting homes.
An “E” litter is possible next year, probably in the spring. Contact me if you wish to on the waiting list.
“C” litter
For our C litter, on the recommendations of Dr. Bernd Westphal, chair of the KlM Breeding Commission in Germany, we imported frozen semen from Ero vom Arberwald, an accomplished stud dog from northern Bavaria. Artificial insemination was done at Veterinary Village in Lomira Wisconsin on on March 1, 2022. An X-ray at 55 days showed at least 8 puppies, hopefully due April 30th.
Indeed, whelping began on the evening of April 30th, and went through the night. We delivered 3 females and 4 males. Onja and the mice (Germans call their puppies mice, or “Mäuse”) are doing well. At six weeks of age on June 12th, they are healthy and playful.
Cooper and Coco have gone to hunting homes in downstate Michigan, although Cooper has a lake home in the UP. Casey has gone to his home in the UP, the first KlM I’ve placed up here. Cammy has gone to a home in Rockford, Minnesota, and will be joining her housemate, Cato vom Eiswald, a five month old KlM female.
Catrina will be going home to downstate MI, also! She’ll be near two other C litter pups and our regional training guru.
Curt will be homed in Baltimore, MD. He will be near Gretchen Zwerlein and Nate Czarnota who will help his owner through the process of training, testing, and breeding.

“B” Litter
Our B litter was born May 17, 2021. Nine puppies went from Vermont to Spokane to Virginia and points in between. We paired Onja with Enzo vom Stiftforst, a stud dog imported from Germany by Gordon Cashin, and a bunch of them recently completed the spring puppy test, the VJP (Verbands-Jugend-Prüfung) with flying colors. We hope to have several complete the fall breed test, the HZP (Herbstzuchtprüfung), and the Breed Show, and go on to become qualified for breeding.

“A” litter
Our A litter was born April 21, 2020. Onja was bred with Claus vom Gusseisen, producing seven pups. They had an excellent showing in the spring puppy tests, and Aura auf der Oberen Halbinsel did very well on her fall test, and is now in the process of getting approval for breeding.
