Kleine Münsterländer

“Kleine” is the German word for little, or small. The “Münsterland” is an area of northwest Germany, around the city of Münster, from where the breed originated. These little dogs from Münster are the most compact of the German versatile breeds, being bred to hunt feathered and furred game, and big game and big game tracking. They will point and retreive upland birds, retrieve ducks and geese, hunt rabbit and squirrel, and in Germany are used to hunt and track deer and wild boar.
